UFN 28: 5 hours of live fights on FOX Sports 1 on 9/4

UFC and FOX officials have made a late change to broadcast plans for next week’s “UFC Fight Night 28: Teixeira vs. Bader” event, and FOX Sports 1 will now feature five hours of live fights ahead of the debut of “The Ultimate Fighter 18.”

Featuring a light-heavyweight headliner between Glover Teixeira(21-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) and Ryan Bader (15-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), UFC Fight Night 28 takes place Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Mineirinho Arena in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. today confirmed with company officials that preliminary-card bouts that had been expected to air on FOX Sports 2 have instead been moved to FOX Sports 1, giving the channel a total of 10 live fights ahead of the first episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 18.”

The night’s first fights stream live on Facebook beginning at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT). After that two-bout stream, the action shifts to FOX Sports 1, which features four preliminary-card bouts beginning at 6 p.m. ET, followed by six main-card contests starting at 8 p.m. ET.

The night concludes with the debut episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 18,” which features women contestants for the first time in the series’ history, beginning at 11 p.m. ET. UFC champ Ronda Rouseyand rival Miesha Tate serve as head coaches for the coed cast.
