As a reminder, FUEL TV on Saturday premieres a new special going in-depth at a UFC event.
“UFC Unrestricted” airs today and will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at “UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II,” which took place this past July.
The hour-long program airs at 1 p.m. ET on FUEL TV, immediately following the post-fight show for “UFC on FUEL TV: Franklin vs. Le,” which takes place in Macau.
“If you think saw UFC 148, think again,” a preview video for the show proclaims. The video shows behind-the-scenes footage of headlining middleweight champion Anderson Silva and challenger Chael Sonnen, UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz for his retirement fight against Forrest Griffin and UFC President Dana White.
UFC 148 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, Silva survived another rough start against Sonnen in their rematch and went on to beat him by TKO in the second. The buildup for the fight was among the biggest in UFC history, and White called the fight the company’s biggest of all time.
The UFC typically includes behind-the-scenes footage of pay-per-view events as part of the special bonus features on its DVD releases. But this is the first time a televised special will take viewers behind the curtain.
FUEL TV airs “UFC Unrestricted” replays at 11 p.m. ET on Saturday and again at 5 a.m. Sunday. Additionally, the program will re-air at 9 p.m. ET on Nov. 20 and 11 p.m. ET Nov. 21.
