UFC 140 open workouts, press conference open to fans

December 5, 2011

The UFC returns to Toronto for the second time in 2011, as UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defends his belt against Lyoto Machida in the main event of “UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida.”

In anticipation of the pay-per-view event, UFC officials recently announced that fans are invited to both a UFC 140 open workout session and pre-event press conference.

Both events can be attended free of charge.

Also featuring a heavyweight rematch between Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, as well as a light heavyweight matchup between longtime veterans Tito Ortiz and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, “UFC 140: Jones vs. Machida” takes place Dec. 10 and airs live on pay-per-view.

The open workout session takes place Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Xtreme Couture Toronto, which is located at 700 Kipling Ave. The six leading names on the card will all take part in the session.

Doors open to the public at 11:30 a.m. ET, and the workouts begin 30 minutes later.

The pre-event press conference, which is hosted by UFC president Dana White and also features the top stars from UFC 140, takes place Thursday, Dec. 8, at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Cinema 1 at 350 King Street West. The session has limited seating, so fans will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Doors open for the public at 12 p.m. ET, and the conference starts one hour later.
