Round 1 – Romero bounces on the outside. Cavalcante whiffs on a low kick. Not much action early, and the crowd grows restless. Romero whiffs on a jumping front kick. Cavalcante charges in but can’t find the mark with his right. Cavalcante whiffs with a head kick. Cavalcante lands a nice low kick that forces Romero to reset. The crowd grows restless again, and the boo birds return. Cavalcante tries a lunging right that misses, and Romero tries to bait him. Cavalcante whiffs with another high kick as Romero continually circles the outside. Cavalcante lands a nice low kick once he cuts off Romero while circling. The ref calls a timeout and asks for a translator. He warns Romero he’s about to take a point away. Romero fakes a shot on the restart. He finally shoots with 10 seconds left, but he comes up short. The crowd loudly boos. It’s close and action-light, but scores it 10-9 for Cavalcante.

Round 2 – Cavalcante works low kicks again. Romero bounces and whiffs on a right. The boo birds want some action. Cavalcante lands a low kick, and Romero taunts him before he tags Cavalcante with an accidental kick to the junk. A timeout is called. Romero continues taunting him by prowling across the canvas. Cavalcante whiffs on a head kick. Romero looks to charge in but thinks better of it. But he then tries a flying knee and unloads a combo with Cavalcante pinned against the cage. Romero unloads power shots as Cavalcante gets back to his feet. Romero keeps hiring, but Cavalcante fires back and stops the assault. Romero shoots and gets the takedown, but Cavalcante is quickly back up. They circle slowly as the pace slows a bit. Cavalcante lands a nice low kick, but Romero laughs it off. He then shoots and puts Cavalcante against the cage. Cavalcante, though, gets the nice takedown. They’re both quickly back up. Romero moves forward with punches and puts Cavalcante against the cage. Cavalcante circles away, and we reset in the middle. The pace slows, and the boo birds are back. Romera misses on a strike, and Cavalcante drops him with a spinning back fist. Romero stumbles back up, but Cavalcante unloads more punches, drops Romero and rains down a few more punches to get the stoppage. The crowd erupts. Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante def.
