dos Anjos goes for 6th straight win at UFC on FOX 11

April 14, 2014

Could this be the event in which Rafael dos Anjos finally gets the respect he deserves as a legitimate contender in the UFC’s lightweight division?

The 29-year-old Brazilian has quietly pieced together a five-fight UFC winning streak while posting wins over the likes of Donald Cerrone, Evan Dunham and Mark Bocek.

On Saturday in the final FOX Sports 1-televised preliminary-card bout at the UFC on FOX 11, dos Anjos (20-6 MMA, 9-4 UFC) looks for his sixth straight victory when he meets surging Khabib Nurmagomedov (21-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) at Orlando’s Amway Center.

So with a win, is it time gets the title consideration he deserves?

“After I beat him, I’m [going to have] six straight wins,” he said. “Nobody has that in the UFC, so I just want to have my chance. If I don’t [get it], I’ll continue my hard work, and I’m going to have it soon. I have faith in my God, and I’ll have my chance soon.”
