Invicta FC flyweight champion Barb Honchak (9-2) will look for her second consecutive title defense when she meets Takayo Hashi (15-4-1) in Invicta FC 9’s headliner.

UFC officials today announced the Nov. 1 event, which streams on its UFC Fight Pass digital network as part of a recent UFC-Invicta FC partnership.

Invicta FC 9 takes place at the RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa, and marks the all-female promotion’s debut in the state.

Additional fights will be announced in the coming weeks.

Honchak, a 35-year-old who turned pro in 2009, suffered some early-career losses to Cat Zingano and Angela Magana. However, since then, she’s posted an eight-fight winning streak, which included a decision win over Vanessa Porto in April 2013 to win the title and a December “Fight of the Night” decision victory over Leslie Smith to make her first successful title defense.

Honchak, who also has wins over the likes of Aisling Daly and Felice Herrig, now meets Hashi, a 36-year-old Japanese submission specialist. Hashi, a onetime Strikeforce fighter who’s recently competed for a variety of Asian organizations, makes her Invicta FC debut fresh off a May TKO win over Shizuka Sugiyama that earned her the Deep Jewels women’s middleweight (135-pound) title. She’s unbeaten (2-0-1) in her past three fights.
