Glover Texeira replaces injured Gabriel Vella at ADCC

September 22, 2011

Before fighting in Amazon Forest Combat, on September 14th, Paulo Filho guaranteed he’d compete in ADCC even if he were defeated in Manaus by Satoshi Ishii, on a MMA bout, 10 days before ADCC.

The judges saved Paulo from the loss and called it a draw (one judge gave the win to Ishii, another scored it to Paulo and the third called the draw), and the BJJ black belt left the cage claiming he’d still fight at ADCC.

ADCC’s organization, however, announced today that Paulo Filho won’t fight “due to an injury”, without announcing who will replace him.

Another breaking news of the Submission tournament is the entrance of Glover Teixeira, who’s replacing the injured Gabriel Vella.

Jeremy Umphries, former Strikeforce fighter who recently was submitted by Neilson Gomes in Jungle Fight, is also out of ADCC, being replaced by Nicolas Renier.
