Two of Ryan Bader’s latest victims, Ovince St. Preux and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante, will look to climb back into the win column when they collide in a light heavyweight battle on November 8th at the UFC Fight Night card in Uberlandia, Brazil.
Promotion officials announced the bout on Wednesday via the official UFC Brazil Twitter account.
Both St. Preux (16-6) and Cavalcante (12-5, 1 NC) suffered sustained, one-sided beatings at the hands of Bader in their most recent outings, surrendering a combined 16 takedowns en route to decision losses to the wrestler.
The setback snapped an otherwise impressive five-fight win streak for St. Preux, a run which saw the 31-year-old propel himself into the light heavyweight top-10 rankings on the strength of quick finishes overCody Donovan, Nikita Krylov and Ryan Jimmo.
Cavalcante, on the other hand, has struggled to maintain a run of consistency since losing the Strikeforce 205-pound title to Dan Henderson in early 2011. The 34-year-old Brazilian carries just a 2-2 record over that stretch, as well as a failed drug test for the anabolic steroid Stanozolol.
UFC Fight Night Brazil is slated to take place at the Ginásio Municipal Tancredo Neves. A main event for the card has yet to be announced.
