Curran faces Justin Lawrence at Bellator 145

August 21, 2015

The event takes place November 6 from St. Louis’ Scottrade Center. The main card will air on Spike TV following prelims on MMAjunkie. The card, which is considered a “tentpole event” for the promotion, features featherweight champion Patricio Freire vs. former titleholder Daniel Straus, as well as lightweight champ Will Brooks vs. challenger Marcin Held.

Lawrence, a three-fight UFC veteran, made his Bellator debut at Bellator 138, stopping Sean Wilson with elbows and punches late in Round 1. The victory over Wilson took Lawrence’s winning streak to four fights. His lone two career defeats came in his final two UFC bouts.

Curran is a two-time Bellator featherweight champion and one-time challenger for the promotion’s lightweight championship. One of Bellator’s most decorated fighters, Curran rebounded from his first ever two-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision victory over Emmanuel Sanchez at Bellator 139 in June.

The latest Bellator 145 card includes:

  • Champ Patricio Freire vs. Daniel Straus – for featherweight title
  • Champ Will Brooks vs. Marcin Held – for lightweight title
  • Michael Chandler vs. TBA
  • Bobby Lashley vs. TBA
  • Pat Curran vs. Justin Lawrence
