October 3, 2011

Two lightweights bouts have been added to December’s “Tachi Palace Fights: Redemption” 11 event.

They include Poppies Martinez (18-7 MMA, 2-1 TPF) vs. Savant Young (9-8 MMA, 0-0 TPF) and UFC vet Fabricio Camoes (13-6-1 MMA, 2-0 TPF) vs. Thomas Denny (27-19-1 MMA, 0-0 TPF)

TPF officials today confirmed the bouts with

“Tachi Palace Fights 11: Redemption” takes place Dec. 2 at Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif.

As previously reported, the event also featured NCAA chamo Bubba Jenkins, who makes takes on fellow MMA newcomer Chris Huerta.

Martinez looks to bounce back from a submission loss to David Mitchell at Tachi Palace Fights 5. The former WEC fighter and Lemoore native owns past Tachi wins over Sergio Salcido and Darren Crisp Jr. The submission specialist now meets Young, an IFL vet who fights for the first time since a 2008 “Affliction: Banned” submission loss to Mark Hominick. It marked his third loss in four fights.

Camoes, meanwhile, went 0-1-1 in the UFC with a loss to Kurt Pellegrino and a draw with Caol Uno. However, he’s since picked up a pair of TPF wins with a TKO of Steve Lopez and a decision victory over “The Ultimate Fighter 8″ winner Efrain Escudero. He takes on Denny, a former KOTC champion and ex-EliteXC fighter who’s 1-3-1 over his past five fights.
