Brian Ortega had his hands full with Diego Brandao at UFC 195, but once the opportunity to unleash his ground game presented itself, he didn’t let the opportunity go to waste, scoring a slick triangle choke submission in Round 3.
The featherweight bout was part of the main card of today’s UFC 195 event at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Ortega (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) appeared to be well behind on the scorecards heading into the final frame, but when the opportunity presented itself to grab the neck of Brandao (20-11 MMA, 6-4 UFC), he made it count. The tap came at the 1:37 mark of Round 3.
