“Anderson wants to fight in Brazil” – Ed Soares

March 2, 2012

One of the most waited rematches, between Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen, still doesn’t have a place to be hosted. Manager of the middleweight champion, Jorge Guimaraes told TATAME that UFC negotiates with Sao Paulo FC directors to try to bring the event to Morumbi Stadium on June 16.

“It’s not set in stone. They still want it to happen in Sao Paulo. It was the last thing I’ve heard”, explains Jorge, revealing that they keep negotiating at all costs. “They are waiting for an injunction from Morumbi, I heard they would send a letter but haven’t done it yet”.

Waiting for some definition, the manager claims to root for it to happen in Sao Paulo.

“This fight is so Sao Paulo, let’s do it until the end. They thought about Rio, but it would have to be in Sao Paulo. They did two events in Rio and now it’s time for Sao Paulo. Anderson is super excited about it”.

Jorge’s partner at Black House, Ed Soares also commented on the doubt about Anderson’s future on a chat with TATAME.

“I still don’t know, I haven’t heard anything about it… I know it will be in Brazil, but I don’t know about dates or places”, affirmed, emphasizing the importance that this rematch happens in Brazil. “Anderson asked for it… Anderson wants to fight in Brazil”.
